About
Adolfo Aguiló Bort is a Spanish ultra-trail runner from the Tarragona region of Catalonia who became one of the standout mountain racers of Spain's Costa Daurada and Canary Islands ultra scene in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He announced himself on the national stage in March 2009 by winning the 123km Transgrancanaria on his first attempt, finishing in 12 hours 57 minutes despite having set out with the modest goal of finishing under 15 hours — he overtook race leader Arnau Juliá on the descent from the El Garañón aid station after a deliberately quick, roughly two-minute stop, and held the lead to the line. He went on to win the Ultra Trail Muntanyes Costa Daurada and was crowned champion of the Copa Catalana Ultraresistencia, the regional ultra-distance racing circuit, in 2013, establishing himself as one of Catalonia's most consistent mountain-ultra competitors of his era.
