About
Adrian Brennwald (born 1975) is a Swiss ultrarunner and Salomon/Suunto athlete from Aeugst am Albis, Canton Zurich, who built his endurance base across ultra-triathlon before transitioning to mountain trail running. In his earlier career he competed in ultra-triathlon events spanning five-kilometre swims, 230-kilometre bike legs, and 20-kilometre runs — sometimes over back-to-back days. Since focussing on trail and ultra-trail running, he has claimed victories at the Ticino Ultra Trail, Défi des Seigneurs, and Petit Ballon, and was among the pre-race favourites for the Swiss Irontrail. A co-founder and long-time contributor to the Swiss Ultra Trail community, Brennwald has led trail running groups on the Uetliberg and is known for combining technical mountain competence with a distinctive enjoyment-first philosophy.
