About
Amanda McIntosh is an American ultrarunner and endurance coach whose competitive career took off in the late 1990s. She won the Leadville Trail 100 Run in back-to-back years, 1999 (22:05:22) and 2000 (22:16:17), and also won the USATF 50 Mile National Championship in 1999. She added the 2005 World Masters 100K Championship title, the 2008 Copper Canyon 50-Mile in Mexico, and masters wins at Q50 Patagonia in 2007 and Q50 Costa Rica in 2010. Since stepping back from top-level competition she has worked as an endurance coach, including crewing and pacing clients at races such as the Badwater 135, of which she has said the heat-focused format is 'not a race for me.'
