About

Andrew Miller is an American trail and ultrarunner from Corvallis, Oregon who entered the sport at age fourteen when his mother — herself an ultrarunner — took him to the start of the McKenzie River 50K. He later studied Exercise Science at Northern Arizona University before transferring to Oregon State University in his hometown, where he now works as head cross country coach and assistant track coach. His defining moment came at the 2016 Western States 100, which he won in 15:39:36 in one of the race's most surprising upsets: all attention that year had been fixed on Jim Walmsley, whose navigational error while leading opened the door for Miller to run away to the title. He had previously won the Bighorn 100M in 2015 with a course record and claimed the Georgia Death Race 68M in back-to-back years (2015 and 2016). With 16 ultramarathon victories to his name, he now devotes much of his attention to coaching and community running in Oregon.
