Anthea Schmid is an American ultra-trail specialist born in 1972 who was among the top American female mountain ultrarunners of the early 2000s. She won the Leadville Trail 100 twice, in 2002 and 2004, and added a victory at the Way Too Cool 50K Endurance Run in 2004, establishing herself as one of the more consistent 100-mile performers of her era. She represented the United States on the national mountain-ultra-trail team alongside contemporaries such as Nikki Kimball, Tanya Pacev, Ann Heaslett, and Karen Scott, competing internationally as part of the sport's push toward global team competition in the 2000s.
