Anthony Gay

About

Anthony Gay is a French mountain guide and trail-running coach who founded the trail, trekking, and hiking agency Aupa after building a competitive ultra-trail career of his own. He has taken outright wins at the Trail de Vulcain 72.5K in 2016 (07:01:12), the Ultra Trail Puy Mary Aurillac 105K in 2013 (12:39:54), and the Trail des Ruthenes 65K (06:06:55), among other victories on the French mountain-ultra circuit. His biggest test came on La Reunion, where he placed 6th overall at La Diagonale des Fous (Grand Raid de la Reunion), the 165K race across the island's volcanic terrain, finishing in 26:09:55 in 2017. He has also finished inside the top 50 at the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, and today splits his time between competing and guiding trainees through multi-day trail stays in France and abroad.
