Bennie Roux is a South African trail runner best known as the "King of the Munga," having won The Munga Trail Run, a brutal 400-kilometer non-stop race through the Karoo, for three consecutive years starting with its inaugural 2017 edition. He completed that first Munga in roughly 101 hours of total race time (70:45 hours moving), taking the lead just 16 kilometers in and holding it the rest of the way despite nearly collapsing near the 340-kilometer mark. Beyond the Munga, Roux has finished the Sky-Run 100K in Lady Grey, the Addo Elephant 100-mile cross-country race, and the Ultra-Trail Cape Town 100K, and used his ultra-distance profile to raise funds for AfriForum's Trauma Support Unit with a 250-kilometer charity run across the Free State.
