About
Benoît Gaillard is a French trail and ultrarunner based in Quebec who has established himself as one of the most reliable long-course mountain runners in the French-Canadian ultra scene. Born in 1984, he relocated from France to Quebec, where he became a fixture in the province's thriving ultra community. His most prominent result came at the inaugural Quebec Mega Trail 100 Miles in 2021, which he won outright, and he has consistently placed among the top finishers at the Ultra-Trail Harricana du Canada — one of Canada's most demanding 100K–125K mountain events — recording a third-place finish in the 125km edition in 2020. Equally at home in European and North American race formats, Gaillard brings a depth of mountain experience that makes him competitive from 50 miles up to 100 miles, and his UTMB Index of 764 places him firmly within the international elite tier.
