About
Beverley Anderson-Abbs is an American ultrarunner based in Red Bluff, California, who works as an environmental scientist with the California Department of Water Resources monitoring water-based ecosystems. A former road and mountain biker and adventure racer, she came to ultrarunning with a competitive intensity that produced roughly 100 races between 2000 and 2013 with only four results outside the podium, including four top-three finishes and multiple runner-up results at the Western States 100. She is a USATF Masters Champion at 50k and 50 miles, won the Coastal Challenge seven-day stage race in Costa Rica outright, and finished the Barkley Marathons 60-mile fun run in 34:29:10 in 2012. She has continued competing into her 60s, claiming the W60 50k record of 4:04:32 at the 2025 Jed Smith Endurance Runs after also winning the Jed Smith 50-miler outright, and has overcome recurring knee injuries dating back to high school, including arthroscopic surgery in 2010.
