About
Cat Simpson is a British ICU nurse and Centurion Ultra Team athlete from London who began running as a free alternative to the gym and progressed through 10ks and marathons to become one of the UK's most formidable ultra performers. She won the South Downs Way 100 in 2024 (19:26:52), the Grand Union Canal Race (145 miles, Birmingham to London), and has represented Great Britain over the 24-hour distance, setting a 100-mile personal best of 15:34 at Crawley 24-hour. She finished fifth at Spartathlon — the second-fastest British woman ever in the race's history — and has run a sub-3-hour marathon alongside her ultra career. Training predominantly solo despite racing for Fulham RC, Simpson is a compelling example of self-directed improvement leading to genuinely world-class results.
