About
Clare Gallagher is an American ultrarunner, environmental activist, and Princeton graduate who shocked the sport by winning the Leadville Trail 100 on her debut at the distance in 2016 — the second-fastest women's time in the race's history at the time. She backed it up with victories at the CCC by UTMB (setting a course record in 2017), Western States 100 (2019), and Leadville again in 2022. A passionate climate advocate and ambassador for Protect Our Winters, she has become one of the most prominent voices in trail running on environmental issues.
