Currently in the 55-59 age group with a peak UTMB Index score of 636, Vega has demonstrated versatility across distances from 50K to 100 miles, with standout victories that include a first-place overall finish at the Antelope Island Buffalo Run 100-mile in 2011 — the annual Buffalo Run on Utah's Great Salt Lake island that is one of the most distinctive courses in American ultrarunning — and a category win at the Behind the Rocks Ultra 50km in 2016.
