Debbie Martin-Consani is a Scottish ultrarunner and one of Britain's most decorated long-distance trail athletes, known widely under the moniker 'RunDMC'. She took up running in 2002 at the age of 27 after entering a local women's 10K near her Scottish home, ran her first marathon at London in 2004, and discovered ultra-distance racing in 2007 — thereafter building one of the broadest competitive portfolios in British ultrarunning history. She represented Scotland and Great Britain for five years across 100km and 24-hour racing at IAU World Championships in Poland, Italy, France, Holland, and Ireland, and still holds the Scottish record for 100 miles at 15 hours 48 minutes. Her race victories span the full range of British ultra-distance events: the Grand Union Canal Race (145 miles, outright winner and women's course record), Montane Lakeland 100 (2014), Thames Path 100, South Downs Way 100, North Downs Way 100, and White Rose 60. She has also completed UTMB, the Tor des Geants, and Spartathlon. The crowning achievement of her career came in January 2022 when she won the women's division of the Montane Spine Race in 104 hours 8 minutes and 22 seconds, navigating 268 miles of the Pennine Way in winter as the uncontested women's leader from early in the race. A Bob Graham Round completer and Montane-sponsored athlete, she co-leads Girls on Hills training weekends and is one of the sport's most recognisable British figures.
