Elan Lieber is an American ultrarunner who has raced widely across California and the Southwest since the early 2010s, building a results record that spans everything from 50K trail races to 100-mile mountain classics. His breakthrough win came at the 2018 Kodiak 100 Mile, which he took outright in 22 hours 2 minutes, and he has continued to contend at the sharp end of competitive fields since, including a runner-up finish at the 2022 Miwok 100K in 9 hours 12 minutes. He has also completed the Javelina Jundred, the HOKA Canyons Endurance Runs 100K, and the San Diego 100, among more than 30 documented ultra finishes, and carries a UTMB Index of 715. A consistent, high-volume competitor rather than a headline name, Lieber reflects the deep field of accomplished amateur-elite ultrarunners that populates North American mountain and desert ultras.
