About
Eli Gordón Rodríguez is a Spanish trail and mountain runner born August 31, 1986, in Granollers, Barcelona. A graduate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences from INEFC Barcelona, she was a competitive karate athlete who won the Junior World Cup kata title in 2006 before discovering trail running in 2013 — a late start that belied the pace of her ascent through the sport. In her breakthrough 2017 season she won seven races, including the UTMB OCC (Orsières-Champex-Chamonix) in the Swiss Alps and the Spanish Championship of Mountain Running on the Zumaia Flysch Trail, where her commanding performance earned her the national title in 4:14:22. She added the Ultra Pirineu 42km women's title in 2018, and after returning from a difficult period she won the Skyrace Pic de l'Orri and Trail Rocacorba in 2023. A Barcelona-area athlete representing Team Gozalbo, she is known for her fluid mountain technique and ability to run technical terrain at pace.
