Eric Ngubane is a South African trail and road runner from KwaZulu-Natal who has been one of the most prolific winners on the South African trail circuit since 2010. His major victories include the Ultra-Trail Cape Town 100km (2014), three wins at the Three Cranes 100km Stage Race, and four wins at Mont-Aux-Sources — alongside 11 victories at the Umhlanga Trail Run. On the road he has finished the Comrades Marathon eleven times with a personal best of 5:50:29 (2012), and won the Wings for Life World Run South Africa in 2015, covering 68.86km before the catcher car stopped him — the longest distance recorded in the country that year. A regular South African representative at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships, he also holds a marathon personal best of 2:31:04.
