About
Galen Reynolds is a Canadian ultrarunner and Montane athlete from British Columbia who came to trail running from an unlikely background: a former ice hockey player who could barely run a mile without stopping when he laced up his first trail shoes after completing his degree and MBA. His improvement was so rapid that within a few years he was racing at the Tor des Géants — the 330km traverse of Italy's Aosta Valley with 24,000 metres of climbing — and finishing on the podium. He has done so three times: runner-up in 2018 and 2019, and third in 2023, building a TDG résumé matched by almost no one in the race's history. He also won the Swiss Peaks 360, the Dolomiti Extreme Trail 103k, and the Berghaus Dragon's Back Race — a prestigious five-day mountain stage race through Wales' most remote and technical terrain — confirming his ability to excel across radically different multi-day formats. Now based in Slovenia, he trains in the Slovenian Alps and continues to compete at the highest level of European and international mountain ultra racing.
