Georg Piazza is an Italian mountain and trail runner from Ortisei in Val Gardena, in the heart of the Dolomites, who spent his early competitive career as an elite mountain biker from 2006 to 2011 — including a 2nd place at the Sellaronda Hero — before switching to mountain running because it demanded less training time. Racing for La Sportiva on the steep, technical terrain around his home, he has become one of the Dolomites' most consistent local winners: he has won the DoloMyths Run Sellaronda Ultra Trail multiple times, including 2014, 2016, and a course-record 2021 in 5:58:54, took the Dolomiti Brenta Trail title in 2019 in 4:48:07, and won the Dolomyths Run Ultra Trail again in 2024. He has represented Italy at two Trail World Championships.
