About

Grégoire Curmer is one of France's most accomplished ultra-trail athletes — a Haute-Savoie native based in Chamonix who spent years balancing elite mountain running with professional cooking at Cap Horn restaurant before committing fully to the sport. He stepped onto the international scene with the 2013 Marathon du Mont-Blanc 80K and immediately aimed for the longest and most remote races available, entering the 300km PTL the following year. His career-defining moment came in 2019 when he won the Grand Raid de La Réunion Diagonale des Fous in 23:33 — one of the most celebrated victories in francophone ultra running — pulling away through the rugged Mafate cirque and calling it the biggest win of his career. He also holds the course record on the GR5 Chamonix–Briançon (202km, 12,500m gain, 31:45), won the Trail de Bourbon in 2021, and has placed inside the top ten at UTMB on multiple occasions, including 8th in 2021.
