About
Guillaume Millet is a French ultra-trail runner and exercise physiologist — a professor at Jean Monnet University in Saint-Étienne who has published more than 330 scientific papers on fatigue and endurance physiology and supervises the performance-support program for Salomon's international trail running team. Before his research career came to define him, he was a genuine contender at the sport's highest level: he finished in the top 7 at UTMB three straight years (4th in 2005, 5th in 2006, 7th in 2007) and took 3rd overall at the Tor des Géants in 2010. He also raced the Western States 100 (24th, 2006) and wrote the definitive French-language reference book on the sport, Ultra-Trail: Santé, Performance, Plaisir, now in its second edition with more than 20,000 copies sold.
