About

Harry Harcrow is an American ultra-distance trail runner who built a formidable résumé across the high-altitude 100-mile events of the Rocky Mountain West over more than two decades. Currently competing in the 55-59 age group, Harcrow accumulated 32 finishes in UTMB-indexed races and is best known for his performances at the Leadville Trail 100 — one of the most demanding 100-mile races in the world, starting and finishing at 10,152 feet elevation in the Colorado Rockies. He recorded a 2nd-place overall finish at Leadville in 2007 in 19:33:17, then returned to place 7th overall in 2010 in 19:23:56, demonstrating that his pacing and acclimatization skills continued to sharpen across campaigns. He also earned 3rd place at the Bighorn Mountain Wild and Scenic Trail Run 100-mile in 2009 (22:18:02) and has completed the Hardrock 100 — the sport's most demanding high-altitude mountain race — among dozens of other 50- and 100-mile events across the American West. Competing at a high level in events like the San Juan Solstice 50 Mile and various Rocky Mountain ultras, Harcrow exemplifies the seasoned mountain runner whose peak performances come from decades of careful adaptation to elevation. He was still logging competitive finishes as recently as 2023, a testament to the longevity that consistent high-altitude training affords.
