About
Heather Jackson is an American professional endurance athlete born in 1984 in Exeter, New Hampshire, best known for a 15-year career as a professional triathlete in which she won six Ironman and 16 Half Ironman events. A Princeton University graduate who captained the women's ice hockey team, she placed third at the 2016 Ironman World Championship in Kona — the first American woman in over a decade to podium there — and won Ironman Lake Placid that year in a course record of 9:09:42. After retiring from professional triathlon following the 2022 Ironman World Championship, she transitioned to ultra trail running, finishing seventh at the 2024 Western States 100, and to gravel cycling, where she won the UNBOUND XL race in a course record and finished eighth overall against the men's field. One of the rare athletes to compete at elite level simultaneously across two separate endurance disciplines.
