About
Ivan Geronazzo is an Italian ultra-trail runner from Valdobbiadene, in the Veneto region's Prosecco hills, now based in nearby Pieve di Soligo, who has built a long and versatile career across mountain ultra distances well into his veteran years. Racing under the Scarpa banner, he has become a fixture of the regional Duerocche circuit, winning the Duerocche Scarpa Ultratrail three times, most recently in 5:11:50, and prompting a signature line after his 2026 win: 'time passes, but as long as I'm enjoying myself I keep going.' On the biggest stage of European ultra-trail racing, he placed third in the men's 120-kilometre category of the La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail in 2023, behind winner Jonas Russi and runner-up Robert Hajnal — a podium at one of the Dolomites' most prestigious mountain races. He also took on the TDS by UTMB in August 2022, one of the sport's toughest single-stage tests at 147 kilometres and 9,760 metres of elevation gain, finishing in 27 hours 1 minute to place 47th overall and third among Italian entrants, and was 3rd overall at the 2026 Gran Raid delle Prealpi Trevigiane GR80 (78km). With an ITRA Performance Index of 816, Geronazzo remains one of the most durable competitors on Italy's northeastern mountain-ultra scene.
