Jamie Aarons is an American-born British ultrarunner, adventure racer, and endurance cyclist who relocated from California to Scotland in 2005 and became one of the country's most decorated mountain athletes. A two-time winner of the Ultra-Trail Snowdonia by UTMB 100-mile race (2018 and 2019), she also won the 155-kilometre West Highland Way Race in 2015 after breaking through with a podium there in 2010, and set the women's course record at the 90-kilometre Cateran Trail Ultra. She has raced internationally across Germany, the USA, Italy, and Spain, including the 2018 Transgrancanaria. Her most extraordinary achievement came in 2023, when — after two years of route planning and with a six-person support team — she set the outright, all-genders Fastest Known Time for Scotland's 282 Munros (all mountains over 3,000 feet), completing the roughly 3,000-kilometre, 140,000-metre-plus round in 31 days, 10 hours, and 27 minutes. The effort combined 1,315km of running with 1,249km of cycling and averaged nine summits a day on as little as four hours of sleep a night, breaking the previous overall record held by Donnie Campbell by under 13 hours and eclipsing the women's record by more than 45 days.
