American ultrarunner born April 26, 1966, who grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and later raced out of Marietta, Georgia for the Atlanta Track Club, sponsored by Montrail and Patagonia. A five-time USATF national 100km team member, she became the first woman to break 17 hours for a trail 100 miles, running 16:03 at Rocky Raccoon in 2000, the same year she was named USATF Ultra Runner of the Year while simultaneously holding five 100-mile course records. She set the women's course record at the Old Dominion 100-Mile Endurance Run in 1997 (18:25:48) and also held course records at Arkansas Traveller 100, Umstead 100, and Mohican 100. She was the overall women's winner at 50 different ultramarathons over the course of her career.
