JP Giblin is an American ultrarunner from Boulder, Colorado who served in the U.S. Navy before returning to competitive running and building one of trail running's most impressive recent breakthrough stories at altitude. He finished second at the Leadville Trail 100 in 2022 in his first major 100-mile result, then returned the following year and won in 17:07:25 — finishing 40 minutes clear of the field and later crediting a pivotal exchange with ultrarunning legend Rob Krar at a mid-race aid station as the boost that carried him to the finish. An Altra Elite athlete who also placed 18th at Western States 100 and second at Bandera 100k within the same 2023 season, Giblin brings the physical and mental discipline of military service to a racing style defined by composure, pacing intelligence, and a clear upward trajectory in the sport.
