Julia Harnie is a French trail runner and coach based in the Alps who moved into ultra-distance racing around 2018, when she lined up for her first 65km event after stepping away from road running. She holds a Master's degree in STAPS (training and optimisation of sports performance) and works as a professional endurance coach through Expert Sport Coaching, balancing her own racing with guiding athletes of varying levels. On the trail she took back-to-back wins in 2023 at the Caldeira Trail (44km, 6:15:07) and the Ultra Tour des 4 Massifs Taillefer (50km, 6:55:10), then added a third-place finish at Les Trails de la Factrice's Bête Noire (69.5km) in 2024. She has since stepped up in distance, finishing the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc TDS (148km) and placing in her age category at the 2026 Eiger Ultra Trail E101 (14:57:36).
