About
Julie Lesage is a Canadian trail ultrarunner and nephrologist from Quebec City who only discovered the sport in 2021, worked through an injury layoff in 2022, and returned to racing with rapid results. By day she serves as director of training and a transplant nephrologist at Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, having completed a fellowship in transplantation at the University of British Columbia, balancing that career with motherhood and elite-level ultra training. She finished the Ultra-Trail Harricana du Canada (UTHC) 50 Mile in 2023, then returned in 2024 to win the UTHC 125km outright. She also completed the 2024 Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB 69km (9:33:27) and placed third at the Istria 110km in 2025. Racing mostly on home soil, she took third in the women's field at the 2026 Quebec Mega Trail 135km in 20:58:08, a race noted that year for shattered course records.
