About
Kerry-Ann Marshall is a South African physiotherapist and elite ultrarunner based in Cape Town, whose career has spanned Comrades glory, 100km trail course records, and major 100-mile wins across the most testing terrain in southern Africa. She earned her physiotherapy degree at UCT and subsequently practised in multiple specialties — including Pilates, acupuncture, and dry needling — before founding her own physiotherapy practice. Her running career grew alongside her clinical work: she set the course record at the Ultra-trail Cape Town 100km in 2015, won a Comrades Marathon gold medal in 2016, and placed 6th at the Two Oceans Marathon in 3:57:39 the same year. Her most significant result came in 2024 when she won the Ultra Trail Cape Town 100-mile (UTCT), covering 164 kilometres in 25:23:02 to take the overall women's title. With a UTMB Index of 684 she is competitive at the highest international level, and she embodies the South African tradition of performers equally at home on road, trail, and mountain.
