Laura (Kulsik) Yasso is an American ultrarunner from Center Valley, Pennsylvania who began running in the mid-1970s on one of the first high school girls' cross-country teams under Title IX. She ran her first marathon at 22, her first ultra at 32, and her first 100-miler at 38, before making the Western States 100 what she calls 'my Olympics' — she finished the race seven times, including three top-10s and a third-place finish in 2001 (21:15:38). Despite a modest 3:14 marathon best, she found she could outrun far faster marathoners over 100 miles, later tackled the Comrades Marathon in South Africa, and at age 50 ran 50 5Ks in 20 weeks.
