Le Thi Hang is a Vietnamese ultra-trail runner who only took up running seriously in 2022, and a year later completed the extraordinary feat of running a full marathon — often on trail with real elevation gain — every single day of 2023, 365 marathons in a year, undertaken partly in sandals to raise funds for Operation Smile and Bright Future. That project, inspired by Gary McKee's similar challenge, launched a competitive trail career: she placed second at the Vietnam Mountain Marathon's 100K in 2023 behind experienced Hong Kong runner Cheung Man-yee, took second at the Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB in May 2024, and rounded out the year with third at the Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2024 (35:30:01).
