Lily Canter is a British ultrarunner, journalist, and running coach from Great Bowden, Leicestershire, best known as co-author of Ultra Women: The Trailblazers Defying Sexism in Sport (Simon & Schuster UK, 2023), which examines gender inequality in endurance athletics from hunter-gathering societies to modern elite racing. A freelance journalist with a PhD in Journalism Studies, she writes for Runner's World, LiveScience, and Coach Magazine, and coaches runners as a UK Athletics qualified coach and founder of the Great Bowden Runners club. On the trails she has completed the South Downs Way 100 and a 250km multi-day race across Tanzania, and is a regular competitor at Centurion Running events across the UK. One of the most prominent voices in British running media and a passionate advocate for women in ultra running.
