About
Luanne Park is a Redding, California ultrarunner who began racing ultramarathons in 1993 and became, alongside training partner Meghan Laws, one of the sport's most storied Western States 100 veterans. She finished the Western States Endurance Run ten times between 1997 and 2013, earning nine sub-24-hour silver buckles — her only finish outside 24 hours came in her debut year (23:07 in 1997). Her fastest Western States time, 19:42 in 2004, made her the second woman and 17th overall finisher that year, and also earned her the women's 40-49 age-division record for that year's race. In her tenth and final Western States finish in 2013, she crossed the line with just 91 seconds to spare under the 24-hour cutoff. Beyond Western States, Park has completed the Way Too Cool 50K 18 times and the Quad Dipsea 10 times, and by the mid-2020s had logged 146 lifetime ultramarathons covering over 10,000 kilometers, remaining an active competitor into her sixties.
