About
Lucy Colquhoun is a Scottish ultrarunner and former GB internationalist who originally hailing from Aberdeen, discovered ultra distance running almost by accident while living in Edinburgh. Having started out in triathlon, she realised she was far stronger as a runner than a swimmer or cyclist and shifted her focus entirely to the trails, training with Carnethy Hill Running Club, Portobello Running Club, Edinburgh Athletic Club, and Moorfoot Runners. Her breakthrough came after running roughly 32 miles between RBS office sites around Edinburgh for fun, which led her to enter and win the Highland Fling Race the same year she went on to win the full West Highland Way Race outright. In 2007 she set the women's course record for the 95-mile West Highland Way Race in 17:16:20, a mark that stood for years as one of the benchmark performances in Scottish ultrarunning.
