Lurdes Palao is a Spanish mountain ultrarunner from Bocairent in the Valencia region who fell in love with the trails of the Sierra de Mariola as a child before turning to competitive racing in her early twenties. She took just two years of dedicated training to win her first 105km Pyrenean ultra in 2016, and has since built her career on the Aneto-Posets massif and around Spain's Pyrenees, running for the OSSO Team. She won the Gran Trail Trangoworld Aneto-Posets outright in 2023 (107.5km, 20:48:43) after taking 2nd there in 2021, won the Gran Trail Sobrarbe in 2024 (65km, 8:53:17), and won the Trail Valle de Tena twice (2019 and again in 2025, the latter on her 34th birthday). She now lives and trains in the Pyrenees.
