Marco Gazzola is a Swiss ultrarunner who has built a long and consistent career across the mountain trails of Switzerland and northern Italy, drawn to the sport by his passion for long days spent moving through the mountains. He won the Swiss Irontrail outright in 2014 (145.8km) and the Trail Ticino in 2013 (129.8km), was runner-up at the Swiss Alps 100km in 2018, and finished 6th overall at the notoriously difficult Tor des Géants in 2017 (356.3km through the Aosta Valley). He has also won the Lugano Scenic Trail (2014) and Pantelleria Trail (2018) at shorter ultra distances, and has recorded 32 official ultra results across a career spanning 2008 to the present.
