About
Maximilien Drion du Chapois was born on 28 September 1997 and is a Belgian athlete who has excelled in both ski mountaineering and trail running at the very highest level — one of very few people to have been competitive at the elite of both sports simultaneously. He moved from Belgium to Switzerland at age 10, where the mountains shaped his sporting identity. In ski mountaineering he won his first World Cup race in 2021 (vertical) and is a multiple World and European championship medallist and vice world champion in 2023. In trail running, he won the European Trail Championships in El Paso in 2022 and finished third at the 2025 UTMB Mont-Blanc. He competed at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in ski mountaineering. He runs for the ASICS Trail Team.
