Mélina Dubois Verret is a Québécois trail runner from Lingwick who came to the sport through years of mountain hiking before turning to competitive trail running, drawn especially to technical courses with heavy vertical gain. She broke onto the Canadian ultra scene with a 2nd-place finish among women at the 92km Cruel Jewel in Georgia in 2022, then went 2nd woman at the 125km Ultra-Trail Harricana du Canada (UTHC) in 2023 and 4th in her first 100-mile race at Bighorn in Wyoming that same year. She has since become a fixture at Québec's biggest trail races, placing 3rd at the 100-mile Québec Mega Trail in 2024 (27:01:36) and returning to UTHC's 125km event in 2025 for another podium, 3rd woman and 23rd overall. She carries a UTMB Index of 635 into a still-growing career on the Québec and northeastern U.S. ultra circuit.
