Michael Hewitt

Michael Hewitt is an American mountain ultrarunner in the 55-59 age category who has spent more than a decade racing at the front of some of the toughest 100-mile courses in the American West. He won the North Fork 50 outright in 2017 and finished 3rd overall at the Leadville Trail 100 that same year, then added the Bryce Canyon 50 Mile title in 2019 and was runner-up at the Moose 100 Mile the same season. His résumé includes the Hardrock 100 (8th in 2018, 37th in 2024), a 102:44:29 finish at the Tor des Géants in 2021, and a top-10 finish at the Bighorn Trail 100 the same year. With a UTMB Index best of 636, Hewitt remains an active competitor at the Hardrock 100 into his late fifties, most recently finishing the 2026 edition.
