Michelino Sunseri

Michelino Sunseri is an American professional mountain and trail runner from Kings Beach, California, now based in Teton Valley and racing for The North Face and the Teton Valley Mountain Runners. He turned professional in 2018 and built a strong record on short, steep mountain courses, winning the Speedgoat 50K in 2019, the Run the Rut 50K in 2021 and 2023, and the Broken Arrow Skyrace 46K in 2023, with additional podiums at the Rut's Lone Peak Vertical Kilometer and the Broken Arrow Vertical Kilometer. He drew national attention in September 2024 when his 2:50:08 supported FKT on Grand Teton was revoked after he was found to have cut a marked switchback on the descent; a federal court convicted him of the violation in September 2025, before President Trump granted him a pardon that November. Sunseri continues to compete and coach out of Teton Valley.
