About
Michelle Barton is an American ultrarunner with a sixteen-year competitive career and more than 80 ultramarathon victories. She began racing ultras in 2003 after joining her trail-running father for short outings, podiuming as runner-up female in her very first event. Her major results include winning the TransRockies Run in 2007, the Javelina Jundred 100 Mile in 2006, and the Javelina 100k outright in 2013 — beating every man in the field — along with a Badwater 135 finish in 2010. Over her career she has set more than 24 course records across distances. Barton co-hosts the Training For Ultra and Trail Runner Nation podcasts and wrote a chapter for Chicken Soup for the Soul about the extreme physical and mental challenges of finishing Badwater.
