Miquel Capó Soler

Miquel Capó Soler, born in 1974 in Sa Pobla, Mallorca, is one of the pioneers of mountain running in the Balearic Islands and one of the most decorated popular-race athletes in the region's history, with more than 300 victories across his career. Before turning fully to trail and mountain ultras he represented Spain in European and World Duathlon Championships, taking two continental runner-up finishes and a bronze. On the trail circuit he won the 105km Ultra Mallorca Serra de Tramuntana in 11:51:59, took the overall win at the Formentera All Round Trail in 2018, and won the III Carrera Africana. Racing for the Compressport team, he took the stage win and race lead at the Everest Trail Race in Nepal on the climb to 4,100m Pikey Peak, and as recently as 2025 finished 13th overall at the Marathon des Sables Legendary. Injuries forced his retirement from top-level competition in 2014, and his hometown of Sa Pobla later named its municipal sports center after him.
