About
Nadir Maguet is an Italian mountain and trail runner from Torgnon in the Aosta Valley, known throughout the sport by his nickname “Mago” (Italian for “magician”), who began running as supplementary training for ski mountaineering and quickly discovered he was exceptional at both. A La Sportiva, Atomic, and Grivel athlete and qualified mountain guide, he is a two-time International Ski Mountaineering Federation World Championships Team Race co-champion, an FKT holder on the Gran Paradiso circuit, and one of the most decorated athletes in the Aosta Valley’s rich mountain running tradition. On the trail circuit he has progressively extended his racing distances, winning at La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail and in 2025 claiming the PDA 50km at Val d’Aran by UTMB in Vielha (4:52:06). At the 2026 Transvulcania Ultramarathon he placed third. A mountain guide who treats trail running as one expression of a broader life in the high mountains, Maguet embodies the Aosta Valley ideal of the all-round alpinist equally at home on skis, rock, or running terrain.
