About

Nikolaos Kalofyris is a Greek trail runner who claimed one of his nation's most significant international mountain running results when he finished third overall at the CCC by UTMB (101km) in 2011, crossing the line in 10:50:17 to take the podium behind Emmanuel Gault and Adam Campbell in one of the race's most competitive early editions. A member of the Salomon Hellas team, Kalofyris also finished fourth at the CCC in 2010 (12:30:19), showing back-to-back elite performance at the sport's biggest stage. Away from UTMB he built an impressive winning record in Greek and Alpine mountain events throughout the 2010s: victories at the Virgin Forest Trail 100M (2012), the TeRA 80K Zagori (2013 and 2015), the Zagori Mountain Running Marathon (2014), and the Rodopi 50 Miles (2016). In 2016 he also placed second overall at the Ultra Marathon Monte Rosa 100M. Kalofyris has long stood as the benchmark for competitive trail and mountain running in Greece. Now competing in the 55-59 age group, he remains active at international events — including an 83rd-place finish at the prestigious Olympus Marathon in 2025 — with a UTMB Index of 602 and a career best of 636.
