About
Noora Alidina is a Jordanian ultrarunner based in Palm Harbor, Florida, who built her reputation through multiple appearances at one of the world's most demanding foot races: the Badwater 135, a 135-mile non-stop run through Death Valley in peak summer heat. She first entered Badwater in 2005 and returned in 2006 for her second appearance, finishing third female and 16th overall in 37:16:15 in a highly competitive women's field. She came back again in 2007, improving her finish time to 35:12:13, and made a further Badwater appearance in 2015. With 44 results recorded in the UltraRunning Magazine database, her racing career extends well beyond Badwater to a broad range of American ultramarathon events. As one of very few Jordanian athletes to compete regularly at the elite level of American ultra-distance running, Alidina represents an important chapter in the global story of ultramarathon expansion beyond its traditional Western heartlands. Her willingness to tackle the most extreme endurance challenges in the sport — at a time when the field of women competing at Badwater was small and performance benchmarks were still being set — makes her an enduring figure in the history of the race.
