Oana Mihalcea is a Romanian trail runner who has established herself as one of her country's most competitive women on the European mountain ultra circuit, part of a growing Romanian presence in international trail racing alongside compatriot Raul Butaci. Her most significant result came at the 2025 Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB, where she placed third in the women's E101 race in 8:47:15 — on the weather-modified course through the Swiss Bernese Oberland above Grindelwald, one of the most technically demanding Alpine ultra races on the UTMB World Series calendar. She has also targeted the UTMB Mont-Blanc and competed across the European mountain trail circuit, holding a UTMB Index of 697 built on racing in some of the Alps' most demanding terrain. Racing in her mid-career with a results profile centred on high-alpine 60-plus-kilometre events, Mihalcea is one of Romania's most capable women at the mountain ultra distance and a consistent presence on the UTMB World Series European circuit.
