About

Omaya Atuya Richard is a Kenyan mountain and sky runner who competes for the Run2Gether team — the Austrian-based programme that has also produced Patrick Kipngeno, Philemon Kiriago, Michael Selelo Saoli, and Paul Machoka — and has rapidly emerged as one of the most explosive uphill specialists on the global mountain running circuit. He finished second at the 2025 World Mountain Running Championships Uphill race in 39:04, behind Rémi Bonnet, in his debut at the world championships, and went on to set course records at Šmarna Gora (41:30) and win the 2026 Transvulcania Vertical Kilometer in 45:01. His other wins include the Grossglockner Mountain Run (1:10:04), the Montée du Nid d’Aigle (1:46:55), and the 2025 Giir di Mont Uphill. He has placed second on multiple WMRA World Cup events behind Run2Gether teammates. Still relatively early in his international career, Omaya Atuya Richard continues the extraordinary Run2Gether tradition of Kenyan mountain runners competing at the very highest global level.
