About
Pablo Criado Toca is a Spanish mountain ultrarunner from Santander who has made the Tor des Géants — the 330-kilometre, 24,000-metre-of-climbing traverse through the Italian Valle d'Aosta — his defining race and the venue for some of the most consistent high-level performances in the event's history. He arrived at Courmayeur for his debut Tor in 2011 and finished third overall in 89 hours and 43 minutes, an extraordinary result at one of the longest and most demanding ultra trails in the world. He returned in 2012 to finish fourth, in 2015 to finish sixth, and in 2016 to claim another third-place podium — a body of work at that single event matched by very few athletes in the international field. Beyond the Tor, Criado Toca has competed at UTMB and the Ultra Trail Barcelona, and became the first Spaniard to run the Baikal Ice Running Marathon in Siberia. In 2012 he undertook an Alpine traverse in the Valle d'Aosta linking four 4,000-metre peaks by 440 kilometres on foot — a project that reflects the self-reliant, exploratory spirit at the core of his athletic identity. Sponsored by Grivel and rooted in the mountain culture of the Cantabrian coast, he represents the romantic, adventure-driven tradition of European mountain ultrarunning at its most committed.
