About
Pam Reed (born 1961) is a Tucson-based ultrarunning legend and race director who became the first woman to win the Badwater 135 outright in 2002 and successfully defended the title in 2003. She ran her first 100-miler at Wasatch in 1992 and went on to complete more than 100 such events, joining the prestigious 100×100 club in February 2021. In 2005 she ran 301 miles in 79 hours without sleep, surpassing Dean Karnazes's mark, and in 2015 completed Western States 100, Hardrock 100, and Badwater 135 in just 33 days — a triple no one has replicated. She was inducted into the USA Ultrarunning Hall of Fame in 2022 and continues to race and direct events in the American Southwest.
