About
Renaud Rouanet is a French professional firefighter and elite ultra-trail runner based in La Chapelle en Vercors, in the Drômois Vercors region, who has built one of the most distinguished long-distance résumés in French trail running since taking the sport seriously in 2004. He recorded his first podium in 2006 and steadily ascended to national and international prominence, becoming a three-time champion of the Grand Raid 6666 (2013, 2014, 2017) and winning the UT4M Xtrême Trail around Grenoble — a 169-kilometre non-stop race completed in 27 hours 14 minutes. Running for Team Globetrailers-Unifer on the Topo Athletic brand, Rouanet holds a UTMB Index of 704 and has placed on the podium at the Échappée Belle L'Intégrale (2nd in 2016 and 2020), Ultra Tour des 4 Massifs, Ultra Trail de la Côte d'Azur Mercantour, and Grand Raid des Pyrénées. The rare combination of professional emergency response — with its demands of sleep deprivation and sustained mental focus — and world-class ultra performance makes Rouanet one of the most respected figures in French trail running.
